Congratulations, Phil! 🎓
Celebrating a Major Milestone at Moxie Health & Wellness
We’re very happy to share some exciting news from the Moxie Health & Wellness team:
Phil has officially graduated with his Master’s in Counselling Psychology.
Completing a graduate program in counselling is no small feat. It reflects years of academic commitment, deep personal reflection, and the development of the clinical skills required to support people through meaningful and often vulnerable life experiences. Phil has approached this work with care, curiosity, and integrity from the beginning, and we’re proud to celebrate this milestone with him.
What This Means for Clients
With his degree now complete, Phil has begun the process of registering with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors to become a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC). This registration process takes time, and during this interim period, Phil will continue practicing as a Pre-Licensed Counselling Therapist, continuing to work under the supervision of our clinical director.
This means clients can expect the same thoughtful, trauma-informed care Phil is known for, with the added structure of ongoing supervision as he moves through the final steps toward independent registration.
Phil’s Way of Working
Phil brings a grounded, relational presence to therapy. His work is shaped by a belief in the power of stories, genuine connection, and creating space for what hasn’t yet been spoken. He understands that many people come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or exhausted from holding everything together, and he meets them with steadiness and respect.
He works collaboratively, at your pace, drawing from approaches such as Internal Family Systems (IFS), narrative therapy, and mindfulness. Sessions often involve gently exploring different parts of the self, noticing patterns and long-held stories, and making room for new ways forward that feel more intentional and less heavy.
Clients often describe Phil as calm, compassionate, and easy to talk to. His sessions feel human and supportive with room for humour when it helps and practical tools you can carry into daily life.
A Bit More About Phil
Before training as a counsellor, Phil worked in education and communications, experiences that shaped his deep respect for listening well and noticing what truly matters. He feels most grounded in nature and often finds clarity while hiking or spending time outdoors. He also loves cooking and exploring international food as a way of connecting with culture, creativity, and community. Having lived and worked in different parts of the world, Phil brings a strong appreciation for resilience and the many ways people adapt and grow.
